Trying to find an “off-the-shelf” gaming PC ready for virtual reality (VR) can feel like a real nightmare.

Thankfully though, the folks at Cyber Power have put together a top shelf option for less than $1200 – something once thought to be an almost impossibility, even if you were buying components yourself and handling all the heavy lifting of building the PC on your own.

To learn a little bit more about this great gaming machine and VR ready piece of hardware we’ve put together this quick review.

Tech Specs

The heartbeat of this gaming PC is the latest version of the Intel Core i7 processor, a 3.2 GHz and six core piece of hardware ready to handle pretty much anything you can throw at this computer.

On top of that, you’re getting 16 GB of DDR 4 RAM right out of the box which should be more than enough to prevent ANY bottlenecks from seizing up your gaming hardware or slowing down your productivity when you’re using office/video and photo editing tools.

The 120 GB solid-state drive acts as your “OS/Software drive”, with an extra 1 TB traditional hard drive handling all of your storage needs. Out-of-the-box this Cyber Power PC comes ready with Windows 10 home, optimized for the Intel processor on board.

Gaming and VR capabilities are all possible thanks to the Nvidia GTX 1060 video card with 3 GB of RAM. Though not exactly the highest and video card on the market right now it’s certainly right up there with the best of the best, giving you more than enough juice to handle any AAA videogame titles and dive headfirst into the world of virtual reality with no trouble at all.

Pros

  • Make no mistake about it, this is very much a “future proof” machine capable of handling the next five years or so of games and VR
  • Beautifully designed case and LED lighting system complements one another
  • Motherboard features tremendous extensibility options for upgrades
  • Keyboard and mouse included
  • Full twelve-month warranty across the board

Cons

  • It would have been nice to see a slightly larger solid-state drive as your main drive
  • The included Intel core processor cannot be overclocked for even higher increases in performance

Final Verdict

Cyber Power PC Gamer Xtreme VR 16GB DDR4 ProductAt the end of the day, the folks at Cyber Power have absolutely knocked it out of the park with this PC.

Featuring a beautiful and minimalistic mid-sized tower with tempered glass and customizable LED lighting affect, plenty of powerful hardware to get you up and running right out of the box, it extensibility that guarantees this PC won’t be obsolete before your favorite games or VR experiences release you can’t go wrong with this computer!
