Check the ethernet cables on both the Cable Modem & Router to make sure they are connected correctly. If that doesn't work, connect a laptop or computer directly to the cable modem and see if you get a connection then. I recommend resetting your router by pushing in and holding the reset button until your device resets. That button is located behind the device. Once restarted, everything should return back to default. This means anything connected via ethernet cable should automatically start working.

For your wireless - Go on a computer that is connected to your router. Log into your router by typing in 192.168.1.1 in any web browser. Use the default login for the router. Look for the large icon that says "Wireless". Underneath that is the SSID & Password. You can use that to connect all your devices on the wireless network. Let me know if that helps.

The Router won't boost the Cable Modem's WiFi range because it's running off of it's own frequency. If both devices are next to each other, I would recommend using one instead of both.

The Amber LED color indicates the speed of your Ethernet connection. White is for Gigabit Ethernet connections and amber is for 100
Mbps or 10 Mbps Ethernet connections. Hope this helps.
