Resetting the password for Windows 8 could be a problem for most because there is no easy way to do it if your locked out of your computer. To fix this problem you will need access to another computer that will give you the ability to download and install software needed to reset your existing password and once again give you access to your computer.

Steps to Resetting your Windows 8 Password:

Download and install a software called Img Burn. It will allow you to burn .iso (image) files to a blank CD/DVD. If you prefer to use a portable flash drive, download and install a software called ISO to USB.

Now you need password recovery software. Download a software called PC Unlocker.

Once downloaded and extracted, you will see a file called pcunlocker.iso

Using Img Burn or ISO to USB, load pcunlocker.iso and create your bootable disc.

Now it’s time to use your bootable disc. To do this, insert your CD/DVD or flash drive and restart your PC. Depending on your computer you will have the option to enter a Boot Menu by pressing one of the F keys that is displayed. If you don’t see an option to enter the Boot Menu, you will need to access your BIOS by hitting F2 before the Windows logo appears.

In your BIOs, look for Boot Options and position your CD/DVD drive and or Flash Drive into the first position. Save and then exit.

As your computer restarts you will be taken into the PC Unlocker dashboard.

Under the tab called User Name, select the account which you want to reset the password for, then hit the button called Reset Password.

After your password has been reset, hit the Restart button.

Now that your password has been reset, you will once again regain access to your computer. You have the option of either keeping the password blank or creating a new one. Just be sure to write down your password and keep it in a safe and re-memorable place. Hope this guide helps you.

Whether you’re a new computer buyer, purchaser of a used computer or given a computer from a family member, friend or loved one, there may come a time where you will face the dreaded BIOS Password Screen. The BIOS is where all the system settings are located which control and manage how the computer boots up and what devices can be accessed or used. Having complete access to your systems BIOS is very important because you may be denied access to starting your computer, adjusting your boot settings, or adjusting other options for any specific reason.

How to get passed the BIOS password screen you may ask? I am here to help. First you should ask the person who provided you with the computer for the password. They usually set it up to protect their computer files from theft. If they don’t remember the password, you can call the manufactures phone number and they will provide you technical support. If those two mentioned options don’t pan out for whatever reason, you can do it the manual method by visiting BiosPassword.net . This site allows you to generate a BIOS Password by entering your checksum/error code. This code will appear after you have failed to put in the proper pass code or if you just simply press the enter button three times.

After three failure attempts you will have received the checksum/error code. Simply write down that code in a separate document or piece of paper, go to the website mentioned above, and then input the info in the text field. Now hit the “Compute” button. Now you will get a list of BIOS passcodes that you can use to access your BIOS settings. Find the correct passcode that corresponds to your machine, take a note of that, go back to your BIOS Password screen, enter it, hit and enter, and then wallahh! There you have it, it’s that simple. Hope this was a big help to you, take care.
